2024 Distinguished Goldbugs Announced
Alva Goldbug Education Foundation is pleased to announce the 2024 Distinguished Goldbugs and their categories:
Linda Pfleider, Class of 1974, Teacher; Connie Moore, 1978, Arts; Adam Jordan, 1983, Business; Ty Dean Hooper, 2014, Athletics; Christopher Joe Reed, 1983, and Jolisa Melton Dobbs, 1990, Professional; Dr. Matt Reed, 1989, Philanthropy; Jim Duval, 1978, Humanitarian.
These individuals will be recognized in conjunction with Goldbug football homecoming on October 25, 2024.

2022 Distinguished Goldbugs
The Alva Goldbug Education Foundation announces the honorees for the 2022 Distinguished Goldbugs celebration: Trudy Wheeler (1975), in the Education category; Jason Paris (1993), Arts; David Landreth (1974), Business; Lauren Heaton (2009) and Scott Case, Athletics; Jackie Phelps Duncan (1970), Professional; John Brothers (1977), Philanthropy; Leigh Ann Brunsteter Gaddis (1976), Humanitarian. Wayne Kinzie (1951) is recognized in the Posthumous category.
Non-graduates having made significant impact on Alva students are Warren ‘Bud’ Nichols in the Teacher category and Beverly Little as Honorary Goldbug.
In its seventh year, the event coincides with Goldbug football homecoming on September 2, and includes a luncheon at Act I Theatre and introductions during halftime of the football game. Ticket information will be released at a later date.
